In an age of platforms and hyper-automation, it promises to bring the human touch that businesses need. Wiz Digital, co-founded by the husband-wife-duo- Zeeshan Basu and Hollie Moran, understands the frustrations of navigating the complexities of the IT Industry. They want you to benefit from their exceptional solutions and services so you can ditch the stress and focus on what you do best. They are like ‘Build, Operate, Transfer’ specialists, already tried and tested by clients worldwide. Their company has been focused on delivering tailor-made custom solutions for businesses, both large and small. Speaking to Bizz Buzz exclusively, Zeeshan Basu and Hollie Moran explain their role as solutions partner and an accelerator for technology initiatives of any company of any size and domain
When and how did Wiz Digital start its journey and what have you been doing since then?
Basu: In 2016, I started it with my wife- Hollie Moran, in Ireland as an Irish entity. But right from the word ‘go’ we kept our delivery centre in India. Now we operate through an Indian company- Wiz Digital Services. Me and my wife (co-founder of Wiz Digital) realised that there had been a large gap in the space of software delivery as a service. Not too many companies could afford the likes of Deloitte, TCS and others for outsourcing technology services (solutions). We wanted to position ourselves in that gap.
Since the establishment in 2016, Wiz Digital has been focused on delivering tailor-made custom solutions for businesses, both large and small. They are the solutions partner, and an accelerator for technology initiatives, helping the company grow in exactly the way you want it to. Wiz Digital is a digital lab and incubation center that provides all business support services, in an easy business in a box, plug and play, de-risked environment. They are your business solutions partner, and an accelerator for your technology initiatives.
So what exactly do you do and offer to the clients:
Moran: Wiz Digital Services is the one-stop for any technology skills and software development service center for all businesses across verticals and of all sizes and magnitudes. We offer technology delivery, software development and customisation for businesses to use in a plug and play offering. We provide highly skilled teams that comprise of project managers, business analysts and testers/developers/ architects who are experts in niche areas such as Cloud and DevOps, Data Migration, (ETL, ELT), Data warehousing, Highcode (Java, Python, HTML),CRM (Salesforce, Hubspot), Lowcode and much more. They are build, operate, transfer specialists who are tried and tested by clients worldwide.
How do your clients stand to gain from what Wiz Digital offers?
Moran: In today’s world every company needs technology and digital transformation. There is a huge gap between demand and supply of tech skills, workers and companies that can implement, integrate and provide these services. WDS is a digital lab and incubation center that provides all business support services, as an easy business in a box, plug and play, de-risked environment. They will help one align business needs, morals and culture.
We ensure the highest standards of hiring through their network, with all BGV and checks in place. They will go an extra mile to ensure flexibility and take pride in customers’ delight, which is driven through personalised relationship account managers who are available 24/7. The team is highly experienced as they keep themselves in constantly upskilling, keeping up with the latest technology trends. They also help their partners to maximize profits and get the right people. Their experienced team, Factory COE model and GCCs allow us to mitigate the forever growing talent gaps, providing you with the best talent, in niche areas of technology. Wiz Digital takes clients’ security very seriously. They uphold global standards of security, putting every measure in place based on customer needs, which can be customised to conform as needed.
So you are basically a service company, right? Would you like to continue as that only, going forward?
Basu: Yes we are a service-based company and going forward, we would like to continue like that, at least for some time now.
Are you looking at any new areas to foray into? Any plans?
Basu: We always look towards innovation. That endeavour will continue. Climate change, sustainability, circular economy are some of the areas we are seriously and actively looking at to get into. Cyber crimes, particularly online financial frauds, is the other area, we are extremely keen on getting into. We are in the process of setting up a techno-legal cell to curb financial frauds. We are also working on an innovative product for tracking such financial frauds. However, that may not come under our company’s banner and is more likely to be part of our corporate social responsibility.
What is your current headcount and how would you like to grow from here?
Basu: At present, we have 35 people working at our delivery centre in Kolkata, India, while another five persons are working at our Ireland office. We are in the process of expanding and taking the headcount in India up to 50. We will be expanding our Ireland operations also and if things move the way, it has been envisaged, we will soon have a delivery centre in Ireland to cater to the European markets.
You and your team work across vast diverse areas and mostly as per customers’ requirements. So you must be having people with different domain knowledge and expertise? How do you do the hirings?
Moran: Yes we have people with different domain knowledge. Interestingly, we do not go to campuses and hire tech staff only. We go to tier-II, tier-III cities and beyond and recruit bright talents with non-tech backgrounds and train them, groom them. The outputs, so far, have been outstanding.
Are you looking at any new geographies to tap or expand into?
Basu: Certainly yes. We have almost made up our mind to start our operations in the UK, which may happen very soon. We have also been invited by the Canadian government and their trade commissioner, in particular, to start operations there. We are looking into various pros and cons and then we will take a call on that.
